Tabs & windows01

A place for every tab.

Pin the pages you need, move tabs to the side, and give idle tabs a rest. Private windows keep browsing history, cookies, and cache in memory for the session.

Tab controls

Right-click any tab to duplicate it, pin it, mute it, close the others or close everything to its right. Closed a tab by mistake? Bring it straight back.

Move the tab strip to the side when you keep a lot of tabs open. Switch it on or off any time from Appearance & Workspace in Settings.

Memory Saver

On by default

Background tabs you haven't touched for 30 minutes are put to sleep to free up memory. Click one and it reloads where you left it.

Private windows

A private window keeps its cookies, cache and history in memory only. Close it and the session is gone.

Up to four pages in one window

Pick a layout from the split menu or with a shortcut. Each pane is a full tab with its own address, history and zoom.

Passwords & autofill03

Sign-ins and addresses are saved on your PC, encrypted with your Windows account, and filled in for you.

Password manager

On by default

XOV offers to save a password when you sign in and fills it next time. Passwords are encrypted with Windows DPAPI and never stored as plain text.

  • Works on the main page, not inside embedded frames

Address autofill

Save your addresses once, then pick one from the autofill popup when a form asks for it.

Safety Check

Run XOV Safety Check from Settings to find weak saved passwords and any protections you've switched off, then fix them in one click.

XOV Shield04

Your privacy. Your controls.

Ad and tracker blocking start on. Adjust your privacy preferences and website exceptions in XOV Shield. Certificate checks always stay active.

Private by default

All on

XOV blocks 40+ known tracking hosts, refuses third-party cookies and asks sites not to track or sell your data. Sites have to ask before using your camera, microphone, location or notifications, and XOV remembers your answer per site.

  • Invalid HTTPS certificates are always blocked, with no click-through
  • Popups open as a normal tab or not at all
  • Web pages can't open files on your PC

Your library pages live at xov:// addresses and open in a tab like any other page.

See progress, then pause, resume, cancel or open the file. Risky file types ask you to keep or discard them first, and you get a notification when a download finishes.

ANDROID APP

Your everyday web.
Now on your phone.

XOV Browser for Android uses Android System WebView for websites, with a two-pane layout when you want two pages in view. Switch to desktop-site mode, save bookmarks, keep local browsing history, and download files to your device.

XOV Shield on Android uses a built-in list of known ad domains. Its filtering differs from the Windows EasyList implementation, and video ad reduction is best effort.

The Windows app's DPAPI password vault, CSV password import, three- and four-pane layouts, and Windows file-default registration are desktop features. They are not included in the current Android app.

There is no cross-device sync between Windows and Android.
